Dr. Andy Nazarechuk, former Senior VP of International Relations for Taylor’s University and Past President of APacCHRIE (Asia’s largest Hospitality Educators Association), is a leader in both the academic and professional worlds of hospitality development. He serves or has served on several prestigious committees, including the United Nations World Tourism Panel of Tourism Experts, the Development Agency Tourism Industry Skills and Training Council, and the International Advisory Board for Singapore Pools.

He is an internationally renowned speaker, facilitating workshops, teaching courses, and addressing conferences and conventions for hotel professional and academics on topics including strategic planning, customer service quality, human resource motivation, education, and hospitality management. His collaboration has been sought for international initiatives in countries around the world including China, South Korea, France, Poland, Ukraine, Egypt, Japan, Taiwan, Brazil, Oman, Vietnam, Singapore, the Philippines, Australia, Macau, and Saipan.

Dr Andy also served as the Founding Dean of University of Nevada Las Vegas’s Singapore Campus (2005 – 2011). He designed and developed the resources and programmes for this modern, technologically advanced facility. The programme began with 35 students in 2006 and grew to over 500 students during Dr Andy’s tenure.

Dr. Andy lived and worked in the hotel, casino, and education industries in Las Vegas for over 20 years. He held executive positions at several Las Vegas strip properties. He was involved in the opening of the Tropicana’s “Island of Las Vegas”, MGM Grand, and trained casino executives on cultural difference in the gaming industry. He was also involved in the development of gaming in Korea, Kangwon Land property, and presented on casino issues in Macau, Singapore, Taiwan, and Saipan. In Singapore, he coordinated over 250 student support staff for the grand opening of the Marina Bay Sands.

Dr Andy holds both a Bachelor and Master of Science degree in Hospitality from the University of Nevada Las Vegas (UNLV), as well as a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from the University of La Verne, California. From 1993 to 1999, Dr Andy served as Director of the Hospitality Research and Development Center (HRDC), the research and service division of the Harrah Hotel College of UNLV.
